Applications
Retail/Restaurant
When a customer enters a store these days, the shop owner is hoping to catch their attention. Shoppers are expecting to have the best shopping experience possible. With every store vying for the almighty consumer dollar, retail digital signage systems give retailers a variety of tools and applications, helping them to increase revenue while keeping costs under control. Retail digital signage has a proven track record of success for point-of-sale, in-store TV, quick service restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping mall applications.
Hospitality
Digital signage in the hospitality industry is second hottest only to general public advertisement displays. Within hotel reception areas, pubs, bars, restaurants and casinos, it is being used by owners to take advantage of the benefits from the ability to update visual and audio messaging across multiple sites from a single management center. Digital signage can also serve as an information kiosk to provide guests with live information, such as weather forecasts, temperature, and exchange rates; as well as serving up entertainment, TV programs or news reports. Guests can also learn of hotel promotional information. Digital signage reduces a customer’s feeling of impatience while waiting in a lobby or check-in line, by offering them information which can be tailored to their needs.
Enterprise
Digital signage is also widely used in schools, corporate offices, and government authorities. Schools, companies and government offices are now taking advantage of the benefits from the ability to update visual and audio messaging across multiple sites—in the head office, to staff members, to students, or to visitors. For universities, or public and private schools, digital signage networks are growing in use, streamlining communication and information sharing to students. Faculty announcements, weather emergencies, sports scores, and academic event calendars can all be easily disseminated. In corporate offices or government departments, digital signage can broadcast information to lobbies, meeting rooms and other locations where employees and others congregate.
Transportation
Transportation centers such as commuter train stations, airports, subways, rail lines, buses and others, provide an approach to deliver targeted information and advertisements to a captive audience during a consumer’s daily commute or other travel. It’s also common to see new digital signage applications which are integrated with interactive kiosks for ticketing, directions and reservations, flight information systems, on-board broadcasts, and local area tourist information systems. Digital signage systems can replace existing systems with enhanced features or act as complimentary information guides to the infrastructure already in place, reducing investment costs and adding value in the transportation center.
